The International PhD Symposium on Self-Management of Chronic Conditions was held at the National University of Singapore (NUS) on November 21-22, 2023. The symposium was attended by representatives from Alice Lee School of Medicine NUS, Thammasat University (Thailand), Peking University (China), and University of the Philippines.
Representing the University of the Philippines College of Nursing (UPCN) were Associate Professor and Chair of the Graduate Studies Program, Floreliz Ngaya-an, Assistant Professor Kathryn Lizbeth Siongco, and two PhD students. The PhD students presented their Theory Grounding paper, with Moira Uy (Dean of Far Eastern University) and Edna Imperial (former dean of Philippine Christian University Mary Johnston) as presenters. Dean Imperial won the best presenter award.
The symposium was a great success, and it provided an excellent opportunity for researchers to share their knowledge and experiences on self-management of chronic conditions.
