UP College of Nursing Dean Sheila Bonito and Assoc. Prof. Jenniffer Paguio recently participated in the Philippine Nurses Association of America, Inc.’s Filipino Nurses’ Global Summit V and 14th International Nursing Conference. The event, which took place on January 25-26, 2024, in Iloilo City, was co-organized by the Association of Deans of Philippine Colleges of Nursing, led by Dean Sheila Bonito, in partnership with the Philippine Nurses Association, Inc. and the Commission on Filipinos Overseas.

UPCN’s faculty representatives were involved in two sessions which focused on Nursing Leadership and Advanced Practice Nursing, respectively. These sessions were conducted in collaboration with the college’s valued partners from Case Western Reserve University’s Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing and UPCN alumni. The topics and links to the live stream via the PNAA FB Page are accessible below:

  1. Catalysts for Transformation: Leadership Perspectives from Nursing Organization presidents
  2. Advanced Practice Nursing Leading the Charge for the Health of the People

Participation in events such as these allows UPCN faculty to share their knowledge and resources and bring forward national Nursing issues. Furthermore, the college’s involvement in such conferences enables enrichment of existing partnerships and establishment of new ones. UPCN takes pride in being a part of this successful event and looks forward to future opportunities to contribute to the Nursing community.
