Dr. Sheila R. Bonito has been re-appointed as the Dean of the UP Manila College of Nursing for a third term. Dean Sheila has been a faculty member of the University of the Philippines College of Nursing (UPCN) and UP Open University (UPOU) for several years and has taught courses such as Theoretical Foundations in Nursing, Statistics in Nursing, and Advanced Statistics in Nursing.
Under her leadership, she has continued the culture of honor and excellence, a legacy that was nurtured by deans before her. UPCN also has maintained a 100% passing rate and its graduates have been topping the licensure exams. She has also been sharing her expertise in nursing through trainings, webinars and presentations, emphasizing the need to revisit Philippine nursing to be more responsive to the evolving demands in the health and development scenario so that nurses can contribute to better health and lives of the Filipino people.
