Meet Moira

My most recent memorable experience at the College of Nursing would be the PhD comprehensive examination held in October 2020. It was the first ever online comprehensive examination undertaken by the College of Nursing. It was a grueling wait and anticipation because the dates had been moved thrice in two years because of the pandemic.

It is memorable for its firsts, its challenges, and the successes that came with it. The most noteworthy success for me would be that we are the first batch (of five PhD students) who took the online comprehensive examination with a 100% passing rate on the first take. It is a feat for CN and for all five of us!

I chose UP College of Nursing for its leadership and excellence not only in nursing education but also, in nursing development in Asia and the Western Pacific Region as designated by the WHO. In CN, you will get to a point in your study that you will achieve mastery of theories and research when you have reached a certain year level which is very empowering. The CN provides intellectually engaging and enabling experiences on and off-campus that allow students to be critical and competent enough to contribute to solutions to healthcare challenges.
