UP College of Nursing Foundation, Inc.
The UP College of Nursing Foundation, Inc. (UPCNFI) was established in 1979 and is duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a non-stock and non-profit corporation and was then given exemption status by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
The Foundation is the brainchild of former UP College of Nursing Dean Teodora A. Ignacio, created through the joint efforts of the UPCN Faculty and the UPCN Alumni Association’s (UPCNAAI) Board of Directors to assist in the funding of college activities related to research & education, community extension, services, publications and others projects.
VISION AND MISSION
The UPCNFI is composed of alumni of the UPCN, individuals and institutions bound by the same values, philosophies, and professional orientations. The Foundation aims to generate resources and facilitate projects and programs in support of the UPCN vision and mission, in pursuit of excellence and leadership in nursing education for the advancement of the nursing profession, and in service to the enhancement of health and wellness of the Filipino people.
OBJECTIVES
- To encourage and fund projects and researches related to nursing education, administration, and practice
- To establish and fund scholarships and professional chairs in nursing
- To publish and distribute information, articles, books and other materials in nursing and related projects
- To collaborate with private and public institutions in underwriting, sponsoring programs, seminars and conferences for the promotion, propagation, and enhancement of nursing knowledge and service
- To assits in strengthening the nursing library, laboratory and other instructional facilities
- To encourage and fund faculty through grants, assist them to participate in conferences, etc., which will benefit and enhance nursing education, service and research
Since its inception, the UNCNFI has been taking a dynamic role in carrying out its goals and objectives.
The fulfillment of its noble existence can only be a continuing endeavor for as long as all alumni, faculty, and friends of the UPCNFI are ready to serve and be counted as contributors and participants in the work that was started.
